When planning an installation or upgrade to a patch or new version it's recommended to check a couple of things.
This is a check list of requirements before running the installation/upgrade:
* Back up you ePO
Go to backup link: https://kc.mcafee.com/corporate/index?page=content&id=KB66616
If the server is virtual, I recommend taking a snapshot of the server as backup, if the database is on a remote server backup the database from the studio management at the same time you take the snapshot.
* Read the release note:
- check if you can upgrade to the new version from your version
- check if all the products installed (extensions) are supported with the new version/patch
- check if the operation system and database is supported
* Check if there is enough hard disk space for the procedure
- Temp driver should have at least 2GB free
- ePO installation driver requires at least 20GB free
* Purge Old events(Threats/client events, DLP events) - Purge events older than 3 months.
* Delete Unknown/Debug/Old log files
Delete all files from those folders: (Don't delete the folders Debug/Unknown!)
<ePO_installation_directory>\DB\Events\
<ePO_installation_directory>\DB\Events\Debug
<ePO_installation_directory>\DB\Events\Unknown
*Ensure that the 8.3 naming convention is enabled
Go to link: Enable namingconvention
* Delete Old files/logs

<ePO_installation_directory>\Server\Logs
<ePO_installation_directory>\DB\Logs
