Application Control and Change Control 7.0.1 HF5 is now available. This release includes new features, fixes, and enhancements including:
* [1194580] - Upgrading from version 6.2.0.530 to 7.0.1.275 causes system failure
* [1203476] - Some solidified Microsoft programs like Notepad or Lync are blocked.
* [1196541] - Some solidified programs cannot be executed due to a checksum mismatch error.
* [1204788] - After installing version 7.0.1-413 on Vista x64 and rebooting, Windows cannot start.
* [1207949] - SCInject_xxx.dll injected in every process when SAU is enabled.
* [1208305] - UninstallString registry string grants updater permissions to script interpreters when pkg-ctrl-allow-uninstall is enabled.

Application Control and Endpoint Security 10.5.2 Compatibility Issues

McAfee has completed testing for has completed testing for reported compatibility issues between Endpoint Security (ENS) 10.5.2 and Application/Change Control.

This issue occurs because the SYSCore MPT driver performs a stack validation that conflicts with the way MACC injects into process memory.

McAfee Support recommends that customers disable Script-as-Update(SAU) and Memory Protection for ENS and Application Control to coexist.

McAfee Endpoint Security 10.5.2 is now available. This release includes new features, fixes, and enhancements including:
1.  Easier install experience:  broader out-of-box application compatibility and refinements to policy migrations
2.  Performance optimization:  significant reduction in time to launch apps, load websites, and execute subsequent On-Demand Scans and the introduction of the ENS Profiler, a tool which allows admins to identify and configure policies that optimize performance for their environment
3.  Security effectiveness:  reducing false positive risk on advanced threats with extra.DAT content support for Real Protect
4.  Better admin experience:  multi-ePO roll-up reporting, option for default logging in English, visibility to TIE content version

Data Loss Prevention 9.4 Patch 3 is now available. This release includes new features, fixes, and enhancements including:
  • The Product properties for the DLP Endpoint section of the McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator System Tree | Systems Information | Products page now display all properties, not just Product Version, Language, and Hotfix/Patch Version.
  • Version 9.4.x is now displayed in the Product Version column of the System Tree.
  • Dashboards now display only those computers the user has access to, according to the System Tree filtering settings.
  • The DLP Incident Manager list view now displays the Total Content Size (KB) correctly. The issue of the size displaying in bytes has been resolved.
  • When a user belongs to multiple domains, McAfee Agent can now correctly parse McAfee Data Loss Prevention 9.4 events and send them to McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator.
  • Microsoft Office OpenXML files are now blocked correctly when uploaded using the Google Chrome browser. The issue was caused by Chrome opening other files with the same headers. The McAfee Data Loss Prevention Endpoint client now has a mechanism to create unique headers in Chrome.

McAfee Active Response Hotfix 2.0.1.171 is now available.
This hotfix includes the following fixes:
 
• McAfee Active Response client includes a fix in Hookcore that corrects infinite looping and increased CPU consumption.
• Trace rules were enhanced to improve Active Response performance.
• Known trusted processes spotify.exe, chrome.exe, and firefox.exe are no longer traced and listed as potential threats.
• The Mozilla Firefox uninstaller is no longer flagged as a High Risk threat.

End of Life for Threat Intelligence Exchange 1.2 and 1.3

McAfee announces the End of Life (EOL) for McAfee Threat Intelligence Exchange 1.2 effective December 31, 2017 and McAfee Threat Intelligence Exchange 1.3 effective August 15, 2018.
McAfee recommends upgrading to Threat Intelligence Exchange 2.1 to benefit from the latest software developments, and to avoid interruption of product support.

New Features added in this release:
 
Self-Approval feature
The self-approval feature allows the user to run an application without waiting for IT approval.
The current release of the product includes the following enhancements and changes.
• The text in the banner now supports up to 1500 characters.
• Special characters are now supported.
• Links are highlighted in blue and they are also clickable. They can be placed anywhere in the banner text.
• Web URLs are detected with and without the protocol http or https, for instance www.example.com or http://www.example.com.
• Other protocols are supported with the full URL text, such as email addresses mailto:user@example.com  or FTP server ftp://ftpserver.com.
To open the links, the operating system (OS) uses the default application associated with each protocol/URL:
• For Web URLs, the OS opens the default browser, for example, Microsoft Edge or Internet Explorer in a fresh Windows install.
• For emails, the OS opens the default email application, for example, Microsoft Outlook. The email address is placed in the “To” field, if available.

Performance improvements
This release disables the inventory backup during boot time to improve performance.
• In the command line interface, enter the command sadmin config set IsInvBootBackupEnabled=1 to change the default value and to enable the inventory boot backup.
• In the command line interface, enter the command sadmin config show | findstr IsInvBootBackupEnabled to check the status of this feature.
 
Delaying MA initialization
This release incorporates a configurable delay for the initialization of MA. In the command line interface, perform the following steps.
• To change the default value from 30 seconds to up to 180 seconds, enter the command sadmin config set MAInitDelay =45 (45 as an example).
• To allow MA to run automatically during boot time, enter the command sadmin config set MAInitDelay =0
• To check the status, enter the command sadmin config show | findstr MAInitDelay

Endpoint Security Threat Intelligence 10.2.3 Now Available

McAfee Endpoint Security Threat Intelligence 10.2.3 is now available. This release includes new features, fixes, and enhancements including:
  • The Communication Status: Threat Intelligence Connectivity now translates correctly in Polish.
  • The Endpoint Security Threat Intelligence module sends the correct metadata to the Threat Intelligence Exchange (TIE) Server when McAfee GTI reputation is Known Trusted. Telemetry information correctly displays on the McAfee ePO Reputations page, and blank values no longer appear in the file name and path.
  • TIE Server reputations now correctly display when installing the executable file from the network location.
  • TIE Server reputations now correctly display a reputation as Known Malicious instead of Not Available.
  • The length of the Threat Detection user message is now limited to 160 characters.
